OUR RESERVATION SYSTEM IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

(In the meantime, you can start here to book your treetop getaway.)

You won’t find billboards or roadside signs that lead you to Finca Bellavista…

But you will find and experience something truly unique in our little slice of paradise!

What Finca Bellavista is not:

We are not a full-service spa or a fancy hotel. You won’t find televisions or telephones in our rentals, or electricity in most for that matter. We are located in an area of Costa Rica that is removed from many of the influences of the outside world. Our neighbors and friends are indigenous families and hard-working farmers. The nearest town (1.5 miles away) contains a school, a church, a pulperia, a bus stop, a handful of houses, and of course, a soccer field. That’s it. No souvenir shops, no mini-malls,and no rowdy bars. If that’s what you are looking for, you won’t find it in this neck of the woods!

Rather than focus on what we don’t have here at Finca Bellavista, we would like for future guests to focus on what we DO have!

What Finca Bellavista is:

Finca Bellavista is a residential treehouse community that is in its formative years. We are a rustic, yet comfortable, retreat off the beaten path where guests can explore the natural wonders of the Costa Rican rainforest and enjoy what we like to call ‘treetop Pura Vida’. This is a wild place, therefore, you might see and hear nature in all its glory, and experience more culture and community interaction than in the more touristy areas of this magnificent country.

Finca Bellavista is a special place that takes some time and effort to explore; therefore, each of our rentals has a two-night minimum in order to fully enjoy the beauty and offerings here.

Each rental includes access to Finca Bellavista’s unique community assets, such as the rivers, swimming holes, waterfalls, hiking trails, and the base camp’s amenities. These amenities include a parking area, an open-air rancho (a great spot to enjoy yoga, hammock time or relaxing with a view of the Fila Cruces), a community dining area, a bath house, and a barbecue lounge. High-speed WIFI is also available for a per hour fee, when electricity and the weather allow. There is a book swap and there are several board games available for guests to use. Because we are in our infancy as a project, there is usually work being done, which can be noisy during work days (currently Tuesday through Saturday). This is our home, as well as others, therefore we ask and expect visitors to respect our owners, neighbors and their spaces accordingly. Though we keep our location somewhat of a secret from the outside world, we are more than happy to open our doors to you since you found us! Detailed directions will be sent to you upon making a reservation. Please note that 4-wheel drive is recommended on the road leading to Finca Bellavista.

Visitors are not allowed to smoke or bring pets into our rental units. Please plan accordingly.

A continental breakfast is included and served at the community center for our paid overnight guests during our high season, November 16 - July 15. Lunch and dinner are available for purchase for a daily rate of $25 at the community center. Separately, lunch is $10 and dinner is $15.

Catering services are also available to rentals through Treetops Catering during high season.

TREEHOUSES AVAILABLE FOR RENT

When we say treehouse, we mean treehouse! The following rentals are arboreal in nature and provide a one-of-a-kind place to experience treetop Pura Vida not found anywhere else on planet Earth. Remember, treehouses are like snowflakes… no two are alike. Therefore, it is important to note the descriptions of each to ensure that your party will be accommodated to your desired extent.

El Castillo Mastate

El Castillo Mastate is a sight to behold and is truly one of the architectural wonders of the arboreal world! The mystical master bedroom suite (with half-bath) is an octagonal dwelling 90 feet off the forest floor in a giant Mastate tree. With a birds-eye view of the canopy, this treehome is the perfect perch for birdwatchers and those that enjoy observing wildlife unobstructed. An 80-foot-long suspension bridge connects the treetop suite to a stilt-built casita which sits atop a knoll on the forest floor. The casita houses amenities such as a full kitchen, dining and lounge area and a full bathroom (with hot water shower). Hardwood bamboo flooring, custom tile finishes and bright skylights bring comfort and livability to this home. This treehome is en route to “La Punta”, a hiking trail within Finca Bellavista that has vistas of the Piedras Blancas region.

This treehouse sleeps 4 (there is a queen-size bed in the master bedroom suite and a full-sized futon couch in the living area), has minimal solar-powered electricity, and the kitchen includes a stovetop/oven and a refrigerator.

*Please note that this rental is a 10-15 minute hike from the community’s base camp and parking area*

Nightly rates:

High season (November 16 - July 15): $260/double occupancy*

Low season (July 16 - November 15): $230/double occupancy*

Casa Mariposa

Casa Mariposa is a spacious treetop retreat that is great for families and groups of friends. Bright skylights bring the outdoors inside to the entire house, and occupants have a birds-eye view of the surrounding rainforest and one of the home's host trees, a giant Pilon. The enormous fully equipped kitchen is an epic spot to host a treetop dinner party. The large outdoor lounge/deck area is a great place to observe the jungle ambiance and listen to the sounds of Rio Bellavista over a morning cup of coffee.

This home has a full kitchen, dining and lounge area and a full bathroom (with hot water shower). This treehome is en route to "La Punta", a hiking trail within Finca Bellavista that has vistas of the Piedras Blancas region. Cabina del Bosque is a cozy one-bedroom “jungalow” that is laid out similarly to a studio apartment. The beauty in this home lies in its simplicity and the delicate and inviting artistic touches of carved wood on the front veranda. This cabina has its own bathroom and kitchenette for those seeking more privacy and solitude than the cabinas at base camp.

This cabina currently has no electricity, so candles and lanterns provide a rustic yet romantic ambiance in the evenings. The kitchenette has a propane stove, and there is currently no refrigeration.

The house includes a kitchenette with a propane stovetop and sink, a half bath inside, and an outdoor host water shower.

This cabina currently has no electricity.
