July '08 Update

Well folks, we’re wrapping up our first year of true on the ground progress here at Finca Bellavista. We’ve gotten so much further than we ever planned or expected. Below you will find pictures of the latest and greatest finca additions from May through July. An unexpected stint of dry weather helped move along projects like additional gardens, a newer, larger solar dryer, a tool bodega, and the completion of the bath house, community kitchen and dining area, and an open-air rancho. Last but certainly not least, several new ziplines and platforms have been constructed. One takes riders over the 40-foot waterfall on Rio Bellavista, and another gives a birds-eye view of our tree house (also the community’s model home), which overlooks the waterfall area. This really gives people a feel for what I envisioned when we thought up the idea of the Ewok/treehouse/rainforest village.

This will be our last update for a while, as we are about to begin the process of updating and streamlining the website. Take care and Pura Vida!
